My journey with skincare and beauty has been a long-running one and I have extremely painfully figured out that you can apply the most expensive products on your skin, but if you aren't careful about what you put in your body, they're not going to work right.

There has been a lot of talk about superfoods. We have also spoken about the most nutrient-rich superfoods and even some that you could eat and apply. The ones I am about to talk about today serve the purpose too. They give you a potent mix of nutrients that over a period of time with regular consumption should solve a lot of skin problems from the inside out.

So, regrettably, I started searching for these superfoods that would miraculously give me great skin and I found that a lot of these were already a part of my diet. These underrated fruits and veggies need to come into the light. 

Here are our picks for the most underrated superfoods that need to be a part of your daily diet.

1. Tomatoes


Tomatoes are the best source of lycopene which is an antioxidant that contains anti-ageing properties. Some research suggests that you get more out of lycopene if it is cooked. So go ahead, have some tomato soup!

2. Cinnamon


The most important thing that cinnamon does is that it aids blood circulation. So it kickstarts your skin purification process thus becomes an ideal ingredient if you have acne or blemish-prone skin.

3. Spinach



This leafy green goodness is rich in Vitamin K and Zinc which is known to over time even out your skin tone. Apart from that it also contains lutein which keeps your eyes bright and healthy. 7. Sweet Potato



Who'd have thought of this one? Well, every starch-rich root veggie is enriched with beta-carotene that fights ageing and helps slow down the process.
